At UFC on ESPN 23, fifteenth ranked Ultimate Fighting Championship middleweight Sean Strickland entered the night looking to continue his hot streak, following a two-year recovery from a serious motorcycle accident. Krzysztof Jotko gave a solid showing, but he was no match for Strickland over three rounds as he earned a fourth straight W.

Jotko was the more active fighter early in the first round as Strickland slowly marched him down like something out of a horror movie. And just waiting for the opportunity to counter. With two minutes left, “Tarzan” started to find the mark more often as Jotko tried to fight his opponent off with wide and wild haymakers. Strickland was the more controlled and calculated fighter for most of the round once he found his range midway through.

It was more of the same in the second with the 30-year-old on the chase, landing his shots and bloodying the Polish fighter’s nose. Jotko had some moments here and there, but he had trouble finding a way to stop Strickland’s stalking and methodical pressure. Through two rounds Strickland looked smooth and unafraid of what his 31-year-old foe was offering him in return.

The final round was a rinse and repeat of the first two, and Sean Strickland scored the unanimous decision victory without breaking much of a sweat. The Californian won a fourth in a row, and third since returning from his near career-ending motorcycle accident. Strickland is on the verge of a top-10 ranking and likewise an opponent in that group. Jotko sees his three-fight win streak brought to an end and remains a talented fighter stuck outside the top-15.
